Newly-opened Boomerang is an excellent hidden gem of an establishment. From the moment you approach the front door, you’ll be treated to welcoming charm and aesthetically pleasing decor. Owner Una Wang has carefully chosen all of the cocktail menu’s high-end ingredients and offers delicious and unique drinks. The Aqua UNA (NT$280) comes in a martini glass and combines sweet and citrus flavors for a cool treat that warms you as you drink it. If you want something with a bit more bite to it, the Gentleman Pugilist (NT$320) is a small glass of espresso, accompanied by a shot of whiskey (or, if preferred, brandy or sherry) and a piece of dark chocolate. On-tap Taiwan Beer (NT$150) is available in addition to many other bottled beers. Light meals are offered for hungry patrons, including the savory Baked Mushrooms with White Sauce and French Bread (NT$260), which nicely blends the flavors and textures of mushrooms and broccoli with a creamy white wine sauce and cheese, melted over top.
