Japanese owner Taku San, whose wife is from Taichung, focuses on making authentic, traditional Napoli-style pizzas and received his culinary training in Italy. Since opening five years ago, he has only used high-quality Italian imported flour, canned tomato sauce, olive oil and cheese. Every day, he makes and leavens his pizza dough and prepares toppings for his creations. The classic Margherita (NT$180) seems simple enough but its layers of doughy flavors are infused with red sauce, cheese and olive oil. For a higher price, customers can upgrade this pizza with air-shipped Mozzarella di Bufala. Half-moon shaped Super Ripieno (NT$280) calzone is filled with a variety of stuffings. Besides chewy pizzas, Marbledot also serves smooth-flavored coffees and a spacious second-floor space is available for small afternoon-tea and other gatherings.
